When the newly constructed Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans prepared to open its doors in 2021, designers knew the acoustics of its event spaces had to match the elegance of its architecture. With multiple ballrooms on-site—each designed to host speeches, banquets, and high-profile events—the risk of echo, reverberation, and poor speech intelligibility posed a major challenge.

To deliver acoustic control without sacrificing aesthetics, Commercial Acoustics was contracted to install decorative sound panels in the form of high-performance stretched fabric wall systems. The Four Seasons client supplied acoustically transparent fabric that aligned with the room’s interior design palette. Behind the fabric, we installed 1-inch thick fiberglass acoustic core that also offered limited tackability. The final product not only improved sound quality but blended so naturally into the architecture that guests would never know soundproofing was present.
