Commercial Acoustics recently completed an installation for Wolfe County Middle School located in Campton, Kentucky. The installation took place in their new auxiliary building which is similar to an auditorium. The facility offers features like a theater, basketball court, volleyball court, and more for their students. When we first checked out the building, it was full of echo and was difficult to hear others speak. Sound easily bounced off the walls and traveled throughout the whole space. An acoustical installation was crucial for the space, and our team was happy to do just that.
Acoustic Ceiling Baffles & Wall Panels for Auditoriums
Our team installed acoustic ceiling baffles throughout the building as part of an overall effort to enhance sound management and create a more acoustically balanced environment. We installed 160 MBI Cloud Lite Baffles in the building. The baffles were suspended from the ceiling structure. Their primary purpose is to address issues such as excessive echo, reverberation, and background noise, which can be particularly problematic in large open areas and high ceilings. By controlling the acoustics, the baffles help create a more comfortable and functional environment, improving speech clarity and reducing distractions.
We also installed 125 MBI ColorSonix wall panels. The acoustic panels are made from highly effective sound-absorptive materials, designed to control mid- and high-frequency sounds that often cause disruptive echoes. During the installation process, our team ensured every panel was aligned and secured with precision to meet both performance standards and design expectations. The result is a significant reduction in ambient noise, improved speech clarity, and an overall enhancement in the usability and feel of the space.
