Commercial Acoustics was contracted by Willis A Smith Construction to complete an acoustical installation for North County Middle School located in Parrish, FL. NCMS was looking to improve the acoustics in their space as it was filled with echo and disruptions. They were looking for a product with high absorption and one that improves speech intelligibility. Our team was prepared to transform the soundscape of the building.

Acoustic Ceiling Tile and Wall Panels for Schools

Our team installed acoustic ceiling tiles throughout key areas of the school, including classrooms, hallways, and administrative offices, to create a more focused and acoustically balanced learning environment. These tiles are designed to absorb excess noise and reduce reverberation, which is critical in educational spaces where clear communication and concentration are essential. By integrating the tiles into the school’s existing ceiling grid system, we delivered a solution that enhances speech intelligibility for both teachers and students. The improved acoustics support better engagement during lessons and reduce auditory distractions, contributing to a more effective learning atmosphere. Additionally, the tiles complement the school’s interior design, maintaining a clean and professional appearance while boosting overall acoustic performance.

We also installed 6,000 sq ft of acoustic wall panels throughout the space. These panels are fabric-wrapped and made of an absorptive material. NCMS selected our 2″ thick panel with beveled edges, giving the panels a sleek and modern touch. The panels have a NRC of 1.05, meaning that noise will be heavily reduced in the space. With the addition of this product, teachers should be able to successfully carry out their lessons without any noisy disruptions.
