Acoustic Ceiling Tiles for Noise Reduction in Open Spaces
Our team installed 55,825 sq ft of Ultima acoustic ceiling tiles on 9/16″ Suprafine grid. With a NRC of 0.75, the beveled tegular tiles showcase a smooth and sleek appearance. It was necessary to place this in all areas of the building to improve speech intelligibility and reduce reverb time in open office spaces. ACT is suitable for locations like offices, schools, auditoriums, and even hospitals since it is a high-density product that tackles noise problems.
In addition to the acoustic ceiling tiles, our team also installed Armstrong Woodworks acoustic ceiling clouds. Three different types of clouds were used and sized 6’x8′, 6’x14′, and 24″ x 24″ x 3/4″. All three had a tegular 4″ trim and a light cherry wood finish. They were also placed on a Suprafine 15/16″ grid. The tiles provide a sophisticated design to the area as well as speech comfort.

Acoustic Wall Panels in Large Facilities
Two kinds of acoustic wall panels were installed: our custom panels and Armstrong perforated wood panels. Our Ekko Eraser wall panels are made of a fabric wrapped, durable material that reduces echo and further improves speech intelligibility. This is crucial in large-volume areas since they are more likely to create echo, which can be extremely distracting. NAVFAC opted in to using the Guilford of Maine quarry blue shade to add a pop of color to the space. The Armstrong wooden panels covered 2,755 sq ft and were designed with an NWE finish. The light cherry wooden finish was selected to match the acoustic ceiling clouds as well. These panels reach a NRC of 0.85, which is extremely impressive.
