Clearbrook Community Center, located in New Jersey, contracted Commercial Acoustics to rewrap their existing Auditorium Acoustic Wall Panels after initially using the firm to install new panels in their Senior Center.
Installation of Acoustic Wall Panels and Diffusers
The Auditorium consisted of nearly 200 4’x8’x2” wall-mounted acoustic panels on Z-clips. The previous fabric was a discolored and dirty beige, which needed to be rewrapped to fit the design intention of the newly renovated space. The renovation included brand new ceiling tiles, furniture and refinishing the hardwood floor. The Auditorium also had over 2 dozen curved acoustical diffusers supported from the ceiling, with a matching acoustical fabric.
The team used a 20’ scissor lift to remove each panel, rewrap them using 3M spray adhesive and high-end FR701 fabrics, then replace them in their original positions. The rewrap process took approximately 2 weeks using 2 crews simultaneously. The end result was a refurbished interior with the same high-end acoustical performance provided by the NRC-rated wall panels.
Benefits of Acoustic Wall Panels in Community Centers
Acoustical paneling such as this is critical in large-volume spaces to improve speech intelligibility and acoustical performance. Without paneling, attendees in spaces with large geometries and hard finishes find it difficult to hear the speaker or communicate directly.
The auditorium in Clearbrook Community Center is now acoustically transformed, making it easier for audiences to hear what is being said by a speaker. If you have any auditorium or even space in need of acoustic treatment, please contact our team for installation inquiries.
