Commercial Acoustics was contracted to furnish and install PET acoustic ceiling baffles at the new Capstan Wellen Park and Capstan Waterside offices.
Polyester Acoustic Ceiling Baffles for Class A Office Spaces
Prior to the installation, one of our project managers went out to site to coordinate placement of the baffles with the lighting subcontractor. With many acoustical scopes including acoustical baffles and acoustical wall panels during new construction, it’s common to need to coordinate install with other subcontractors. While our team typically coordinates with the lighting subcontractor for ceiling baffles and other ceiling mounted treatments, they also coordinate with electrical subcontractors when there are any outlet penetrations through a stretched fabric wall.
This particular product is assembled as a single unit, and can be used to create a unique pattern as shown in Figure 2. Once the baffle unit is assembled, it is then mounted to the ceiling using eye-lag bolts and airline wire. For this project, the architect desired alternating colors for each individual baffles, contributing to the aesthetic design of the space.

Benefits of PET Acoustic Panels in High-End Offices Spaces
PET acoustical panels are the ideal solution for acoustic comfort in Class A office spaces, because they serve both and aesthetic and functional purpose. Although not as effective in terms of NRC (noise reduction coefficient) as fabric wrapped fiberglass panels, PET panels work well in for the acoustical needs in an office. However, you wouldn’t want to try treating an auditorium or gymnasium using polyester panels. In that case, 2″ thick fiberglass core panels are the best solution.
Whether you’re designing a Class A office space, or your existing office space requires acoustic treatment, contact Commercial Acoustics. Our company offers turnkey solutions for acoustic wall and ceiling panels, along with white noise sound masking systems.
