Commercial Acoustics contracted with ACC Construction to furnish & install stretched fabric wall systems at the Fort Gordon Brant Hall facility near Savannah, GA. Our team installed approximately 12,000 sq ft of absorption material on 48 walls in the classroom areas within the facility. This mass renovation took place in the east and west wings, expanding throughout the corridors. The panels were strategically placed 4 feet apart and elevated.
Fort Gordon was built in October 1941 and has greatly expanded over the years. It houses over 12,000 soldiers, Brant Hall being one of the spots. This location is filled with history, which makes us feel honored that we were able to take part in the renovation process.

Stretched Fabric Wall for Noise Absorption
The project, overseen by the US Army Corps of Engineers, was part of the FY22 Brant Hall Renovation Phase 1 Program, and included 2 floors of the building. The installation took a team of 6 skilled technicians approximately 6 weeks to deliver and install the final solution, using 6 fabric types, and both 1” and 2” impact resistant fiberglass. The panels achieved NRC of 1.0, and used acoustically-transparent fabric from Maharam, including their Tekwall line of Codex and Chiffon. Stretched fabric wall offers a floor-to-ceiling design with high-end absorption and an aesthetic appeal. It’s often used in locations like classrooms, office buildings, and churches. Basically, any large-volume space where you want to prevent echo and increase noise absorption. The stretched fabric wall ensures a sleek appearance while featuring amazing acoustic qualities.
