Commercial Acoustics was contracted by Waltbillig & Hood to install acoustic treatment at Arthrex located in Naples, FL. Arthrex is a leading medical device company offering inspiring and innovative solutions to the public. The company is dedicated to their practice and shares their knowledge in many ways to better assist those in need. Installing acoustic treatment at their facility was necessary as speech privacy is very important in medical offices to create a more comfortable experience for patients. Our team was prepared to fulfill the needs of Arthrex and provide them with an amazing transformation.
Acoustic Wall Panels for Medical Offices
Rather than using an invisible form of acoustical treatment, Arthrex decided they wanted a decorative option. They selected Filzfelt hexagonal acoustic panels with a 1/2″ thickness and standard edge. The hexagonal design adds a creative flare to the space while working to absorb sound. Acoustic panels are made of a fiberglass core and limit the amount of echo within a space as sound is easily absorbed by the material. Products like this one are crucial to use in large open spaces so that speech is intelligible.
The FilzFelt Hex tile is a unique, PET-based acoustical wall tile designed to achieve target reverb ratings while also adding an aesthetic touch. This is a honey-comb shaped, 6 sided tile direct-adhered to the wall to give depth and color. By super-imposing two tile colors and design combinations, the finish product was an artistic touch. The Hex Panels had both standard and chamfered edges, with a contrasting substrate color to show the 3-dimensional thickness. Lastly, the 3-color face pattern provides multiple finish selections in the same space. FilzFelt provides interlock and Z-Clip mounting options as well, to allow simple re-hanging/re-configuration.
We also installed Filzfelt Akustika 10 Wall, which are textured panels made of wool. With a NRC of 0.75, this product is guaranteed to dampen sound in any given environment. The product line offers 90 color options and are hung by Z-Clips or the Interlock Mounting System. Additionally, we installed Unika Vaev Kula products. This is a ball-shaped 3D design that is hung on the wall and offers many acoustical properties, with a NRC rating of 0.95. Unika Vaev offers wool fabric options for this product as well.
